Schedule Information
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- 1st shift
- Mandatory overtime as production needs require
Press Operator Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least two years of machine-operation experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous press or metal-stamping experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to set up and operate automatic press equipment
- Ability to use gauges and other measuring devices
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal work instructions
- Ability to understand safety notices, control plans, quality alerts, and assembly or packaging instructions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team
- Excellent attendance and dependability
- Commitment to machine guarding, PPE, safety checks, and facility procedures
- Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment around stamping presses and moving mechanical equipment
- Availability for mandatory overtime
Key Responsibilities
- Safely start, set up, operate, and monitor automatic press equipment.
- Follow job-specific setup and operating instructions.
- Position and clamp feed guides as required.
- Assist with threading metal strips from decoilers through pinch rollers and into dies.
- Load metal blanks into hoppers or conveyors.
- Verify dies are clear of foreign objects before starting equipment.
- Adjust ram, feed, and die-protection systems as needed.
- Monitor equipment and production processes for safe and efficient operation.
- Meet established production and customer requirements.
- Perform first-piece, last-piece, and in-process quality inspections.
- Use visual inspections, gauges, and measuring devices to verify product quality.
- Ensure only conforming parts advance to the next production operation.
- Report equipment problems and quality concerns immediately.
- Follow established packing and stacking procedures.
- Complete production reports, quality alerts, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe press area.
- Follow all machine-guarding, operational, PPE, and safety procedures.
- Perform additional manufacturing duties as assigned.
