Job Description
Crown Staffing is currently seeking experienced Plastic Injection and Blow Molding Machine Operators to fill openings for a Production company in Kansas City MO .
Currently, positions are paying anywhere from $16.00-$22.00/hour depending on experience
1st shift 7am-330pm, 2nd shift 3pm-1130pm , 3rd shift 11pm-730a.

Safety:
- Maintain a “safety first” attitude
- Adhere to all relevant safety policies and guidelines
- Know the primary and secondary egress routes in the event of an emergency evacuation
- Work to prevent injuries to yourself and those around you
- Establish and maintain good housekeeping
- Wear required PPE and comply with all GMP standards
- Perform periodic safety inspections of your assigned area
- Complete all annual safety training as assigned
- When using a company issued knife to remove bottle contamination, wear company issued cut resistant gloves and always cut away from the body. Knives must be stored in a safety sheath when not in use
- Know all emergency stop locations on the machines
- Know the location of lock-out tag-out disconnect points
- Be familiar with machine guarding and ensure guards are in place before operating equipment
- Know the additional PPE requirements needed to perform operator job duties
Quality & Food Safety: - Maintain a “food safe” environment. Report any food safety or quality related issues to the Production Supervisor or Quality Manage
- Perform all duties necessary to meet Company and Regulatory requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company, HACCP, and SQF.
- Adhere to prescribed Good Manufacturing Practices
- Perform cleaning as assigned per the Master Cleaning Schedule.
- Sign-off and date that cleaning was completed
- Continually monitor bottle quality to ensure customer satisfaction
- Collect hourly shelf samples. Visually inspect each bottle and circle any defects found.
- Follow heldware procedures if applicable
- Perform regular checks of downstream equipment; leak detectors, baggers, etc.
- Perform hourly leak detector checks using the designated test bottles
- Evaluate bottles kicked off by the leak detector hourly and document in the leak detector log. Make equipment adjustments as needed
- Perform hourly weight checks and enter data into the SPC program.
- Make adjustments according to specification limits
- Perform hourly visual and in-process monitoring checks and enter data in the SPC program
- Review dimensional, wall distribution, and top load data provided by the lab.
- Make adjustments according to specification limits
- Review drop test failures and make adjustments as needed to correct
- Identify problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of raw material, processes, quality system, or safety system, by performing Production/Quality Checks as assigned.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system
- Respond immediately to all quality issues. Notify the Production Supervisor and lab personnel when a bottle quality problem is found.
- Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Notify lab personnel when defective product needs to be placed on hold
- Complete all quality check sheets and logs fully and legibly
- Complete all quality and food safety training as assigned
- Can locate and reference documents (forms, work aids, work instructions, etc) that are relevant to your job
- Understand how to create new documents (forms, work aids, work instructions, etc) and update existing documents as needed
Be knowledgeable of our customer complaints, understand how they impact the plant and know what your role is in preventing them from occurring

- Ensure that production equipment is operating to optimum efficiency
- Start and stop production equipment as needed
- Maintain Operation Excellence standards of housekeeping- sweeping, mopping, wiping down equipment where necessary
- Troubleshoot and repair processing issues
- Assist in changeovers as needed
- Monitor finished product flow from extruder to packaging equipment. Be able to clear jams and resume process flow as needed
- Monitor and maintain material levels
- Assist utility and packaging employees and assist in giving breaks as needed
- Actively involved in the coordination and completion of progressive training required to advance to the next level

- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Requires frequent squatting, bending, stooping, sitting and stretching
- Requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriate work instructions and documentation
- Requires correctable vision to be within normal range
- May require working in areas that are not air conditioned
- Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination
